Triceratops Coloring Pages

The Triceratops is one of the most recognizable dinosaurs with its signature frill and three sharp horns. Less noticed, but still an interesting part of the dino, is its beak. The bird-like beak of the Triceratops helped it chew tough plants that made up its herbivore diet. Part of our dinosaur coloring pages, these Triceratops coloring pages showoff the prehistoric creature in fun and dynamic scenes. Best of all, they’re all free to download!

How to Use Our Coloring Pages

Get even more life out of your completed triceratops coloring pages by using them in craft projects. These creative ideas are perfect for kids at home or school who want new ways to showcase their art.

Animated Hatching Triceratops Egg

Color a Triceratops from one of your pages, then cut it out. Cut a paper plate in half in a zig zag pattern to create the cracked look of a hatched egg. Attach the two egg halves together with a brad fastener so they open like a hinge. Glue or tape your Triceratops to the back of the plate. Now you can move the eggshell open and closed, revealing a dino who is ready to hatch!

Custom Dinosaur Wall Art

First, paint a pre-stretched canvas with acrylic paint in any background color(s) and pattern you like. Color your Triceratops page and cut out the dinosaur. Once everything is dry, use Mod Podge or a craft glue stick to attach your cut-out dinosaur onto the painted canvas. Seal the whole piece with another layer of Mod Podge for a polished, finished look. Now you have personlized art perfect for a bedroom or nursery!

Triceratops Dot Art Masterpiece

Instead of coloring the dinosaur the usual way, use Q-tips or a pencil eraser dipped in acrylic paint to fill in the design with colorful dots. This technique is a great hands-on introduction to pointillism or pixel art. Once finished, the dotted Triceratops becomes a textured piece of art layered with color!

Paint With Materials From a Dinosaur’s World

Head outside and gather leaves, sticks, rocks, or pine needles. Instead of using brushes, dip these natural objects into paint and use them to stamp, drag, or dab color onto your Triceratops page. You can even press your objects directly onto the paper to leave impressions of their shapes and textures, creating an authentically earthy environment for your dinosaur.
