Quick Tips and Tricks
If you’re going to color a capybara, you might be interested in some tricks for getting the fur, well, furry. Procreate offers some brushes already built in to their Brush Library that allow you to get your giant rodent looking extra cuddly.

First, you’ll want to use the Airbrush brush to create blobs of color. Just place the color where you want it to go, but don’t worry too much about precision when it comes to the shape. In the image above, there are areas for dark, medium, and light brown.

Next, use the Smudge tool using the Studio Pen to push the colors around. You’ll want to do strokes in the direction the hair grows. Follow the shape of the body as a guide.

Next, use Procreate’s Short Hair brush to add some more texture to your little fluffball. You’ll want to use your three different colors for this brush. When you’re adding your strokes, keep them short and going in one direction. Envisioning the hair actually growing out of the capybara is maybe kind of a weird exercise, but can be very helpful in this context!

Now your capybara has nice shading and texture in its fur. You can take it even further with more details in the fur. It’s all open to your creative interpretation!
