Quick Tips and Tricks
Did you know you can instantly create different colored versions from one image? And all without destroying the original. Using my Easter page below, I’ll show you how to create multiple versions in different colorways, without having to recolor each element.

For this tip, you’ll need Procreate, or a similar coloring or photo editing app. If you want to achieve this effect by hand, sadly, there’s no shortcut!
In Procreate:
- Add a new Layer on top of your finished image.
- Then, Fill the Layer with any color you like.
- Next, set they Layer’s Blend Mode to Hue.

This is where the magic reveals itself! Your coloring page is now a totally new colorway of your original image. You can see our pink version above.

It’s fun to try multiple colors and see which you like best. You can compare our original image against versions made using pink, green, and blue. And all of these were made in an instant. No big recoloring project involved!

Bonus tip: Adjust the color Layer’s opacity to get even more versions out of one color. You can see what happens when we lower the opacity of the pink layer. Our blue birds, mixed with a less opaque pink, are now a pretty purple.
